What A Girl Wants

Ok, All you lovely ladies this is for you.

Recently, I was in a meeting talking about women's ministry. All sorts of things were batted around, but it got me thinking:
"What do women want in women's ministry?"

So, knowing we are all from different backgrounds I would love to hear from you.

What top three things would you like to see in your churches women's ministry -or what are top three favorite things.

Thanks, and I can't wait to hear from you!!

This one woman told me she didn't think the church prayed enough...

More intimate opportunities for fellowship. I don't go to ours because I still don't feel like I know anyone very well. Counterproductive, I know, but definitely honest.

Love the honesty!
Thanks!!

I agree with anonymous no 2.

Do you think you would go to something smaller/larger if you got a personal invitation? And would it make a difference who the invitation was from, ie the 'people in charge' or 'just a friend'.

I would be more inclined if the invite were from someone I knew who wanted to meet there, and if I understood that the gathering was not exclusively a programmed event but also had the goal of getting to know others better. With Sunday Schools, Bible studies Worship Services and various service obligations, it is hard to use precious family time for another programmed discussion or speaker. It brings back all those silly school insecurities of "who will I sit by", "what will they want to talk about" and as in the retreat this past winter, "will I share a room with strangers?" No one I have met at church has ever spoken of going to any of the women's ministry activities, other than the retreat after it was all over.

Well, I totally know what you mean about 'who will I sit with?'. I've been in a room with hundreds of ladies, many -MANY-who I knew well, and still felt all alone and out of place. (BTW, I think allot of that is how we let Satan mess with our head. We miss a blessing because we feel so insecure that's all we can focus on.)

Dear Anonymous would love to invite you to the Aug. 14th event at our church. I can't promise the speaker will be any good at all, but I can promise smiling faces and welcoming hearts. And you can TOTALLY sit with me! You'll have to let me know who you are though ;)

Thanks for sharing your heart. NOT always easy to do, but so needed! And you gave me some great things to think about!
